Dare to Be
“When a new day begins, dare to smile gratefully.
When there is darkness, dare to be the first to shine a light.
When there is injustice, dare to be the first to condemn it.
When something seems difficult, dare to do it anyway.
When life seems to beat you down, dare to fight back.
When there seems to be no hope, dare to find some.
When you’re feeling tired, dare to keep going.
When times are tough, dare to be tougher.
When love hurts you, dare to love again.
When someone is hurting, dare to help them heal.
When another is lost, dare to help them find the way.
When a friend falls, dare to be the first to extend a hand.
When you cross paths with another, dare to make them smile.
When you feel great, dare to help someone else feel great too.
When the day has ended, dare to feel as you’ve done your best.
Dare to be the best you can –
At all times, Dare to be!”
― Steve Maraboli
I had another wonderful day on a new project’s television set today! It was so nice to arrive at basecamp and see this sign posted. It reminded me of how thankful I am for my family and everyone who is supporting me on my journey. I like the idea of being able to post up positive affirmations and signs where you can read and see them!
Where you are at today may be cloudy and cold but always bring your own sunshine! Aloha!
I got to see Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Wizard of Oz at the Segerstrom Center for the Performing Arts and it amazes me how each time I see a version of the story I pick up on something new. This production cleverly combines the classic lyrics from the movie with new songs to enjoy.
Some of the classic lyrics are the optimistic voices that occur before the beloved four characters enter the Emerald City.
You’re out of the woods
You’re out of the dark
You’re out of the night
Step into the sun
Step into the light
Keep straight ahead for the most glorious place
On the face of the earth or the sky
Hold onto your breath
Hold onto your heart
Hold onto your hope
March up to the gate and bid it open
Some of the new lyrics from the song “Already Home” include the reminder that “home is a place in your heart” but sometimes “we have to finish to begin” and “we have to lose before we win.” Enjoy the journey!
